**Manager, Inclusive Employment**

(17 Month Contract)

United Way Greater Toronto is looking for an experienced Manager, Inclusive Employment to join our team at our Toronto

office.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Inclusive Employment, the Manager, Inclusive Employment is responsible for working within the Inclusive Employment team, to provide oversight to United Way Greater Toronto’s (UWGT’s) partnership with agencies funded to deliver employment programs and services, and to engage the sector in assessing and developing solutions to employment issues for communities in Peel, Toronto and York Region.

**What you’ll do**:

- Manage a portfolio of agencies, monitoring agency performance and reporting against their agreed upon deliverables and evidence-informed standards for employment programming, and managing their relationship with UWGT
- Direct involvement in developing and implementing inclusive career pathway programs to address diverse community needs, while ensuring alignment with industry and workforce trends and requirements
- Identify organizational, financial and/or program delivery issues with agencies and assist in developing a plan for resolution, including capacity building
- Convene groups for relevant employment service issues, lead UWGT’s involvement with community outreach, interventions and mobilization with planning councils, networks and satellites, and recommend appropriate roles and responses for UWGT
- Stay current with and understand social and community issues, assess government funding initiatives and policies, and recommend appropriate roles and responses for UWGT, relevant to their employment portfolio
- Support the engagement of agency portfolio in relevant UWGT sponsored/prioritized policy and systems initiatives
- Manage and implement special projects
- Represent UWGT, as appropriate, in different forums through written reports/briefs or presentations
- Participate in cross-functional projects and teams
- Work closely with Donor Relations & Marketing colleagues to engage donors and steward the funding relationship with their portfolio of agencies
- Work with Communications and Marketing staff to tell the story, communicate impact and support key messaging about the work of UWGT
- Provide stewardship for community volunteers and partners who participate in supporting agencies or projects within their portfolio

**What you’ll need to be successful**:

- More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years employment and volunteer experience in the non-profit social services sector
- Post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent work-related experience
- Demonstrated experience in designing and executing comprehensive industry informed career pathway initiatives tailored to diverse community needs
- Strong understanding of best practices in career development and pathways planning
- Proficiency in analyzing workforce trends and identifying skill gaps
- Experience and understanding of access and equity issues for people living in poverty in urban and suburban communities and neighbourhoods and the services, programs, community building and systems work that needs to happen
- Demonstrated experience in managing partnerships and collaborations
- Sound knowledge of the human services sector in Toronto, Peel and/or York Region is required
- Understanding of grant-making processes and ability to analyze financial data
- Experience working with volunteers at all levels of an organization
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Highly developed analytical skills with ability to conduct research and use independent judgment to problem-solve
- Ability to influence, negotiate and manage contentious issues to resolution
- Ability to coordinate and modify projects, and occasionally work with a group of outside volunteers
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage constituent relationships
- Proven organizational abilities and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines under pressure
- Proven ability to take initiative and carry projects to completion with minimum supervision
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and constituent service skills including the ability to work respectfully and inclusively with a diverse employee population and multiple stakeholders
- Strong communication and facilitation skills (both written and verbal)
- Understanding of organizational and/or community capacity building an asset
- Willingness to actively contribute to the organizational equity framework through participation in learning opportunities and implementing anti-oppressive and anti-racist learnings into action internally and externally
