Data Modeler

Are you looking to challenge yourself in a role where you are showcasing your data modeling and designing skills while influencing leaders?

As a data modeler, you will help shape how data is stored, used, and manipulated in our cloud data warehouse to help the business make informed and data-driven decisions. You will be responsible for the efficient design and development of our cloud data warehouse.

We practice a remote-first working model, leveraging in-person interactions at our head office, in beautiful Vancouver, BC, for strategic, collaborative, and social purposes.

What you will do:

- Harness, model and transform data (structured, unstructured) from several sources that empowers users to collaborate and analyze data in different ways leading to better and faster decision making
- Use industry standards like Kimball architecture to design and develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models, data integration patterns, and metadata models, and collaborate with a team of analytics engineers to build and execute on the same
- Actively participate in planning sessions and collaborate with product managers and analytics leads to build innovative data solutions for key business analytics needs
- Collaborate on designing cloud-compatible CI/CD frameworks to deploy solutions on a Cloud Data Platform
- Creatively navigate through a complex network of data structures, pull relevant data, and build solutions that serve key business goals

What we are looking for:

- 4+ years Data Modelling experience on cloud data warehousing platforms.
- Expert knowledge with data mapping, transformation, SQL and implementing physical and relational data models.
- Proficiency in data modeling tools and techniques (e.g., SAP Power Designer, ER/Studio, ERwin, UML, etc.).
- Experience with metadata management and related tools.
- Experience tech stacks such as Microsoft (Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Streams) or Google (Big Query, Dataflow, Data fusion, Dataproc)
