**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
**ROLE**:
Reporting to the Field Supervisor, Technology Development, the Field Specialist, Technology Development, is responsible for implementing new technologies into STEP's field operations. They will work alongside field professionals to transport, install, and operate specialized equipment in compliance with all laws, regulations, and STEP's safety standards. The specialized equipment includes downhole equipment related to E-coil, STEP-conneCT, Fibre Optic operations, as well as other emerging technologies.
- Travel will be required within Canada and United States to client/project sites on a frequent basis.
- The Field Specialist will also be on-call 24 hours per day within a defined period, as part of a greater on-call roster.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assist the Technology Development team with trialing and integrating new and emerging technologies into field operations.
- Provide technical support on new technology to the sales team;
- Assist with the promotion and sales of our specialized equipment which includes but is not limited to:

- Creating technical documents for internal and external education.
- Providing client support both on location, and off, as required.
- Assist in the research and evaluation of new technology and business opportunities.
- Transport equipment to and from location in a safe manner following all related policies and procedures:

- Ensuring tools are loaded, secured, and unloaded in a safe and compliant manner.
- Ensure the safe rig up and down of equipment by working with STEP professionals, the client, and third-party services to spot and direct equipment to its safe place on location.
- Operate equipment in adherence to JSA’s, SOP’s, and safety standards which include but are not limited to:

- Wearing all required PPE.
- Ensuring tools and equipment are maintained, clean, and inspected during each shift.
- Ensuring a safe work area is identified and safe work protocols are in place.
- Ensuring hazards are identified, mitigated, and reported.
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert on location and coach and mentor other professionals, both internal and external.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High school Diploma or GED is required.
- University Degree or Diploma in related discipline is considered an asset.
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience, preferably in the oilfield services industry, working directly with coiled tubing equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and industry related best practices.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
- Have high standards of professionalism and integrity including the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Action oriented with a strong focus on execution and meeting deliverables within an established time frame.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Visio);
- Must be able to travel, on short notice, to various remote locations throughout Canada and USA
