Hours: This is a call-in position with hours from 0 to 40 per week, possibly leading to permanent.

Pay Rate: $18.00/hour and up **depending on experience and credentials**.

Primary Responsibilities: Assist in developing and implementing child-care programs for children 16 mos to 12 years old that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, provide opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity, Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits, Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor, Knowledge of the Childcare and Early Years Act 2014, Knowledge of licensing regulations, Establish guidelines for behaviour, assist in planning and maintaining an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children, Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members

Experience Required: Must have relevant experience, Experience with Special Needs Children is an asset, Some computer skills, First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate

Credentials: An asset but not mandatory, as long as you want to work with children. **Preference is given to PSWs, DSWs, or other related fields**
