**Summer Student**: Human Resources Assistant / Receptionist
Open to Board employees and external applicants
**Term**: Anticipated start date of May 29, 2023 and end on August 25, 2023
The Summer Student - Human Resources Assistant / Receptionist will assist Human Resources Services with preparations for the 2023-2024 school year while providing excellent customer service as receptionist for the Catholic Education Centre. This position will also support the ongoing staffing process, perform clerical duties such as organizing and scanning of information and filing of various Human Resources records.
Required Qualifications / Skills / Abilities
Completion of a minimum of 1st year in a community college or university program
Recent related experience an asset
Professional manner
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal
Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Demonstrated ability to perform work accurately and with attention to detail
High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality
Self-starter and ability to work under mínimal supervision
Ability to provide regular attendance
Preferred Qualifications/Skills/Abilities
Recent customer service experience
An interest in pursuing a career in the Human Resources field
Hourly rate to be commensurate with recent related experience; hourly rate range is $18.00 - $20.00.
**Please note**: the two weeks beginning July 31, 2023 and ending August 11, 2023 will be non-work weeks due to a summer shut-down.
**Conditions of employment include**: the completion of a police record Vulnerable Sector Check satisfactory to the Board completed no earlier than 6 months prior to employment, as well as the Certificate of completion for the Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps training (details will be provided following an offer of employment).
