Commodities Manager

Overview:
Oats Commodities Manager will consist of grower relations, negotiations, sustainability program implementation, coordinating supply, quality monitoring, material forecasting, and strategic planning. Location is flexible but must be able to support on-farm interaction with growers in Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, and New Brunswick.

**Responsibilities**:
- **
Strategic Relationship Management **- effectively balance short-term and long-term deliverables and make trade-off decisions frequently with grower base and cross-functionally within Quaker.
- ** Identifying and approving new growers **- to continue building the supply base, bring in new perspectives, and optimize supply assurance and cost, field buyer will be responsible for finding, approving, and onboarding best of the best oat growers.
- ** Implementation of sustainability advancements **- field buyer will be responsible for partnering with PepsiCo’s Sustainable Ag group to implement advancements within grower base and supply shed to deliver against PepsiCo sustainability commitments.
- ** AOP Planning and Pricing Analysis **- front-line cost build analysis of pricing structure across the region where the buyer operates. Leverage basic knowledge of commodity markets and competing demand to align on right cost build and support development of strategies to manage price negotiations across grower base.
- ** Supply Risk Mitigation** - Identifies potential gaps in supply chain for raw materials and develop/execute plans to remove those gaps.
**Who’s a good fit for the team**:
- Fluency in English and French
- Undergraduate degree in Agriculture, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills
- 5+ years in a related field
- Technical experience related to agriculture production
- Commodity market knowledge/experience
- Basic knowledge or experience within PepsiCo Procurement Directs space
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge/experience in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical capabilities in processing data
- Proven collaboration/teamwork experience
- Ability to influence at all levels of internal organization and external growers
- Ability to multi-task; handle competing priorities
- Strong organizational and Customer Service-orientated skill

- ** Mettre en œuvre des avancées en matière de durabilité. **L’acheteur ou l’acheteuse sur le terrain sera chargé-e de collaborer avec le groupe d’agriculture durable (_Sustainable Ag_) de PepsiCo pour mettre en œuvre des avancées avec les producteurs et dans l’approvisionnement afin de respecter les engagements de PepsiCo en matière de développement durable.
