Smack Pet Food Inc. is a manufacturer of raw dehydrated food for dogs and cats. We are a family owned business located in Winnipeg, MB. Celebrating our 17th year in business we market and sell our products to retailers (B2B) and consumers (DTC) globally.

As a member of the senior leadership team, the Vice President of Finance will be responsible for working with the senior leadership team to develop and execute on strategic financial plans that drive long-term growth. This is an exciting role for a person who wants to help build a data-driven omnichannel e-commerce company in a growing organization. This is a brand new role for the company so it will involve creating standard processes and controls and helping build the vision for a growing team.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Build and lead the accounting team in all aspects of corporate accounting and reporting
- Reporting and advising to the CEO on all aspects of business operations including analysis of expansionary investments and financing discussions.
- Oversee all accounting & finance related activities including financial reporting, budgeting, treasury, cash flow planning, hedging and foreign exchange, cost control and complex financial analysis.
- Develop enterprise risk management framework and perform ongoing risk management including company contracts, insurance and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Review, finalize and present monthly financial results.
- Drive and lead the annual budget process, long term forecasting and updates to plan.
- Work effectively and strategically with the other senior management members to ensure all direction, alternatives and decisions have been thoroughly reviewed from a financial perspective.
- Develop policy, procedures and internal controls and implement identified process improvements.

**Qualifications**:

- Professional accounting designation (CPA) with minimum of 10 years financial leadership in a managerial capacity.
- Demonstrated skill in financial reporting, forecasting and analysis in a manufacturing environment.
- Outstanding leadership, communication, organizational and problem solving skills.
- Extremely organized, with the ability to keep multiple projects on track.
- Knowledge of foreign exchange transactions in a multi-currency environment.
- Proven experience in costing, logistics and supply chain analysis.
- Experience with cross border / international operations.
