**JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY**

The LPN is accountable and responsible for evaluating client needs, overseeing and monitoring the care delivered, developing an appropriate plan of care, and ensuring the competency of caregivers. The LPN commits to participate in the establishing and implementing the highest standards of care. The LPN provides leadership and direction in all aspects of client care. She/he functions and participates in the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of client programs and services while upholding Qualicare brand standards. This individual will assist in the delivery of home care services including client assessments, health education/counseling and follow-up care. The LPN may be required to be on call after regular business hours as directed by the Director.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Client Care Management**
- Participates and supports the Director in administrative and client care policies and practices for the Qualicare location in compliance with provincial regulations and standards of care
- Drives the inside sales process by consulting with all prospective families and clients and overseeing the process from initial call, conversion to service and service delivery
- Assures that the level of care established for clients is safe and appropriate based on client and home assessment
- Directs the implementation of service goals and objectives

**Staff Management & Development**
- Supports employee selection processes including recruitment, hiring and onboarding of staff
- Supervises, schedules and manages overall performance of staff including compensation, in cooperation with the Director of Care if applicable
- Assesses appropriate staff supervision during all service hours and directs staff in performance of their duties
- Ensures staff development including caregiver orientation, in-service education, continuing education and evaluation of staff
- Verifies credentials and qualifications for caregiving personnel
- Utilizes capabilities of nursing and paraprofessional personnel in the development of orientation and staff education programs
- Responsible for familiarizing the field employees with all laws and regulations, and shall have copies of the rules available for their use
- Achieves/exceeds employee satisfaction and investigates issues and follows up promptly

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**
- LPN with current Alberta license to practice professional nursing
- May be an experienced certified caregiver if overseeing non-skilled care only
- Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Preferred two (2) years of clinical experience with at least half of that time working in home health or related health care organization
- Minimum one to 2 years of direct employee supervision
- Possess exceptional assessment and client consultative skills
- Proven ability to build quality and implement improvements with the operation
- Excellent interpersonal skills and analytic/critical thinker
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with clients, staff and community
- Understands provincial and federal regulatory compliance

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $27.00-$30.00 per hour
