Background & Purpose of the Job

The Site Quality role supports the implementation of Unilever specifications, standards and Quality Management System (QMS) for quality assurance and controls in alignment with applicable regulatory requirements. This key Quality role ensures systems are in place to comply with local regulatory requirements and drives site Quality improvement activities to ensure product consumer safety & overall quality and address consumer / customer issues.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do- You’re a strategy guru: Ability to strategize, prioritize, and time manage is essential for this role.- You’re a dot connector: Ability to investigate quality defects and identify root causes along with corrective actions is essential. Involvement in food safety risk assessing throughout the manufacturing site while identifying changes to food safety/HACCP requirements.- You love to win, and have fun doing it: This role is critical to provide food safety and quality support to all departments, with an emphasis on collaboration between necessary departments (i.e. safety, production, maintenance, etc.- You’re a teacher: Ability to coach employees when deviating from GMP standards. Create and present Quality Improvement projects- You’re a changemaker: Success depends on change. Ability to review and verify QMS documentation to provide updates.- You’re a culture & change champion: Adapting to change is essential in this fast-paced environment. Change in food safety culture is necessary for success along with the ability to do so.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supports implementing and assessing of on-going compliance to a quality testing program throughout the production cycle that is aligned with UL / external requirements and applicable specifications.- Supports the implementation and verification of procedures to control non-conforming materials and products.- Supports program to ensure on-site Quality laboratories operate in accordance with applicable Good Laboratory practices and UL /external requirements, test methods and general laboratory safety.- Supports implementing and verifying site calibration and maintenance program for inspection, measuring and testing equipment.- Supports program for product fill control through monitoring and verifying fill parameters and compliance.- Supports the implementation and maintenance of system where key quality data and information are recorded and preserved.- Supports / participates in Quality Pillar activities in TPM factories.- Supports ensuring UL required IT systems, practices, loss trees and improvement tools are used to reduce / eliminate quality losses.- Supports / participates in structured quality improvement activities related to customer and consumer issues- Supports efforts to improve quality of inbound materials by collecting and analyzing supplier performance data.- Supports process capability studies to maintain alignment between process capability and specification limits in processing and filling operations.- Applies current tools and practices to support management of quality related projects.- Supports efforts to complete and maintain external audits and certifications.- Supports efforts to verify and document compliance to regulatory requirements applicable to quality and consumer safety.

What You’ll Need To Succeed- Bachelor’s Degree or Post Secondary Diploma in Science, Microbiology, Chemistry and/ or related field- Experience in a Quality Role (1 year minimum)- Full understanding of HACCP and FSMA, HACCP Level1,2 an asset- Fully understand and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in the food plant.- Must be able to effectively manage conflict while creating an inclusive work environment.- Must demonstrate the ability to adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment.- Working knowledge of RCAs and tools involved to complete them (i.e. 5 Whys, 4-M analysis, etc.)- Must demonstrate strong analytical skills, laboratory methods with careful attention to detail.- Self-motivated, quick learner, inquisitive and process orientated.- Strong ability to prioritize activities, excellent time management and organizational skills.- Ability to work shifts along with overtime coverage during weekends- Potential entry level for progressive positions- Experience in SAP, SAP QM systems and other programs essential for Quality analysis such as Microsoft Office programs like Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, PowerBI etc.
