**Sow Barn Manager**

People & Culture Services is recruiting on behalf of a 1400 head sow barn located near Tavistock, Ontario. We are looking for a Sow Barn Manager to join the team.

This Sow Barn Manager position is an opportunity to work with an established team, provide leadership and ensure the overall well-being of this site. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands on, teaching people and working with a team to achieve success for all involved.

**Job Duties**:

- Overall responsibility for animal care, daily chores, production activities and barn maintenance
- Ensure all required barn activities are done well and completed in a timely manner including breeding, farrowing and daily chores
- Participate actively with the team to complete tasks
- Manage staff to ensure the operation runs smoothly and efficiently
- Schedule, train and support other team members
- Ensure all required biosecurity measures are adhered to
- Ensure accurate record keeping remains a priority
- Work with service providers to maximize care and productivity
- Implement action plans to meet farm specific goals

**Requirements for Application**:

- 5 or more years of experience working in a sow barn
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Desire to keep the animals and the barn in excellent condition
- Has a hands on approach to leading a team
- Is flexible and able to prioritize
- Is self motivated
- Is a great communicator
- Flexible availability - weekend work is required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $26.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week
