Idea Lab Kids Stouffville provides classes, workshops, camps, and birthdays ranging from Science, Engineering, Robotics, 3D visual Art and cooking. Each class, camp, and activity are carefully constructed to provide the ultimate Design-Based-Learning environment while providing a FUN hands-on experience. From figuring out mechanics of spaceship engineering using recycled materials to creating scrumptious desserts in our Culinary Arts series, our Idea Labbers are provided the necessary tools to QUESTION, LEARN and INVENT "Out-of-the-Box" solutions through, Arts, Sciences, Technology, Creativity and Natural Play.

We are seeking a STEAM Instructor. The applicant needs to be a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills, child friendly attitude, ability to manage a group of kids in a calm manner, with hands-on activities experience This position offers a great learning experience in a fun working environment. Curriculum, materials, and training will be provided.

**Responsibilities**:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

- Provide supervision while instructing the IDEA Lab curriculum
- Have a growth mindset to inspire students to have fun (Age Group: 4 yrs. to 12 yrs.) and encourage them to solve problems by thinking logically and creatively
- Build strong and positive relationships with students and their parents
- Provide overall safety and oversight of students in accordance with policy and procedures
- Clean/ Organize/ Sanitize as needed
- Treat children, parents, and coworkers with respect
- Responsible, punctual, and friendly

**Education and Experience**
- 2+ years working with children/youth between 4-14 years required
- Experienced with or studied in the STEAM related program: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics required
- Passionate about teaching and experienced in motivating children to learn and explore new ideas
- Education related to Child/Youth, Early Childhood Education, Education or Social Work preferable
- Standard First Aid + CPR certification
- Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 9 weeks
Part-time hours: 4 per week

**Salary**: From $15.50 per hour

Schedule:

- 4 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay

COVID-19 considerations:
To keep our staff safe, PPE is provided on-site along with approved sanitized solutions and hand sanitizers that are safe for frequent use. All staff members are recommended to wear a mask at all time at the facility.

**Education**:

- Secondary School (required)

**Experience**:

- coaching/mentoring: 1 year (required)
- camp counselling: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

- CPR Certification (preferred)
- Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) (required)
