**About the Opportunity**
The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Recruitment and Retention Specialist involves collaborating in the development and implementation of early childhood education training programs and initiatives within the Ministry of Education's guidelines and MNBC policies. The Specialist creates a recruitment and retention strategy to increase the number of qualified Métis early childhood educators in BC. Additionally, they conduct community outreach to assess the needs of the child care sector and design a Métis Early Childhood Education Community of Practice. Collaboration with the Ministry of Education and post-secondary institutions is crucial to delivering Métis-focused early childhood education. The Specialist also establishes and maintains relationships with post-secondary institutions, Métis Chartered Communities to enhance early childhood education capacity. Creating innovative educational materials and providing feedback with a Métis-specific perspective are essential components of this role.

The position oversees the day-to-day operations of recruiting, training, and retaining early childhood educators. The role supports the Manager, Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Training and Development, and MNBC’s mandate and vision of Early Learning and Child Care programming, initiatives, and services for Métis families across the province.
