- The CIUSSS de l'Ouest-de-l'Île-de-Montréal is currently seeking an Advanced Practice Nurse Consultant - Medicine-Surgery to fill a full-time day position with the Professional Practice Development and Care Partnership team in the Nursing Directorate.
- In this role, the Advanced Practice Nursing Consultant will provide advice to the facility on nursing issues. In particular, he/she:
- Exercises leadership by acting as a clinical expert and change agent in medical-surgical matters;
- Acts as a consultant to complex clientele and processes;
- Participates in the development of advanced nursing practices and is responsible for the management of clinical projects in this area;
- Collaborates in the development or evaluation of nursing staff competencies;
- Participates in the determination and implementation of continuous quality improvement mechanisms;
- Ensures monitoring and quality control related to care outcomes, population impact and nursing staff competence;
- Develops interdisciplinary clinical projects;
- Develops clinical tools related to clinical projects (collaboration in working groups with the CSI);
- Determines clinical pathways for specific clienteles;
- Participates in the development and dissemination of specific protocols and clinical algorithms applied in his/her sector of activity.
- Develops strategies for the implementation of activities reserved for the fields of practice of nursing professionals.
- Work schedule may vary depending on the clinical needs of the department
- Occasional travel required between CIUSSS facilities (automobile not required)
