University Health Network (UHN) is looking for an experienced professional to fill the key role of Financial Analyst I in our** Cancer Clinical Research Unit.**

University Health Network (UHN) is a research hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto and a member of the Toronto Academic Health Science Network. **Position**:
Working under the direction of the Director, the Financial Analyst I, will conduct key tasks including
- General ledger and account reconciliation
- Generating invoices to sponsors
- monitoring interdepartmental cost recoveries
- Assisting with budgeting of clinical trials
- Coordinating the preparation and analysis schedules, statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders
- Other tasks as assigned and adhoc requests, which may include, but are not limited to, developing accounting system for clinical trials, contributing to business cases for program expansion/consolidation ect., or participating on special committees
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Community college diploma (three year) Business Administration or equivalent program, required
- University degree in Business Administration, preferred
- Enrolment in a recognized professional accounting program (e.g., CGA or CMA), preferred
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting an asset
- Previous experience with research funding an asset
- Expert knowledge of Excel; strong knowledge of Access and PowerPoint
- 2-3 years relevant experience
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritize
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Experience with financial modeling
- Experience with financial and cost accounting and with analyzing and interpreting large quantities of financial and statistical data; systems thinker
- Client service oriented, with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions, backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
