**POSITION: Laboratory Clerk**

**STATUS**:Casual**

**START DATE**:As soon as possible**

**SALARY RANGE: $25.20 - $26.80**

The Laboratory Clerk assists on a daily basis with maintaining the appropriate level of department flow in outpatient lab.***

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Medical Terminology Certificate***
0 - 3 months recent related experience in a similar setting preferred

**EFFORT**:
Moderate physical effort
Moderate degree of mental effort and analysis***

**POSITION-SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS**:
Scheduling appointments and order bloodwork and ECG for patients based on Physician requisitions. The ability
to discern inadequate information submitted

Deliver time-sensitive samples to the hospital
Detail patient information in Accuro
Order laboratory supplies
Answering incoming phone lines, transfer when needed and answering questions within scope
Registering, adhering to identification requirements and policies.
Pocket health submissions
Maintain adequate records of files of work performed
Contributes to a team working environment by assisting wherever it is needed or required
Maintain adequate office inventory and order as required
Receiving fax requisitions, reviewing to ensure completeness, filing requisitions and maintaining the files

appropriately.
Sample Kit preparation
Contacts with patients and Doctor’s offices require the exchange of information and response to questions

regarding blood work
Cleaning the space as necessary

**HOURS OF WORK**: Monday to Friday 0700-1500. Available to work all shifts including evenings, holidays and
weekends.**_ _**
