Nail Car Technician

Education requirement: Minimum high school education

License: Eligibility for nail technician license from provincial Cosmetology Association

Experience requirement: one year or related experience

Language Requirement: English

Wages: Starting $23/hour

Overtime pay: $34.5/hour after 40 hours/wk

Vacation time and vacation pay: 2 weeks vacation time; 4% of wage vacation pay

Holiday Pay: Pay for all Nova Scotia statutory paid holidays, as entitled

Hours of work: 40 hours per week. Work hours are 9am to 5pm.

Detailed Position Description:
Nail Care Technician
- Providing high-quality manicures and pedicures, which includes removing old nail polish from

fingernails and toenails, cleaning nails, shaping the ends of nails, pushing back cuticles, and
- Recommending various nail designs and nail art to clients.
- Evaluating the condition of clients’ nails and advising them on proper nail care and suitable

nail care treatments.
- Sanitizing all nail instruments and equipment before each use.
- Ensuring that workstations are kept clean and orderly.
- Ensuring that nail and massage supplies are adequately stocked.
- Providing quality hand and foot massages.

**Salary**: From $23.00 per hour
