**The role**:
We have an immediate opening for a** Scientific Writer** in Richmond, BC. You will work closely with our Executive and Business Development teams to deliver high-quality scientific, technical, and marketing communication materials to reach customers and other stakeholders. **This role will provide opportunities to mentor and develop others and to advance as the team and company grow.**
**Your main tasks will include**:
- Creating informative technical materials, both online and printed, while helping to ensure quality and message consistency across multiple platforms.
- Developing and executing marketing strategies that increase lead generation, conversion, and brand awareness.
- Working on important business documents to support the executive and business development teams.
- Mentoring and guiding colleagues on your areas of expertise and working with external contractors.
- Working with the team to employ a full range of digital marketing tools and techniques to reach a diverse audience: SEO, paid advertising, CRM, re-marketing, social media, etc.
**You will be a great fit if you have**:
- A degree in a STEM discipline OR a degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or English with relevant industrial experience.
- At least three years of experience in technical marketing, science communication, scientific writing, or a similar field. Experience in a professional working environment, including in cleantech, engineering, or industrial, is strongly preferred.
- Portfolio demonstrating previous successes.
- Outstanding written and spoken communication in English.
- Experience managing and mentoring colleagues and/or sourcing and managing external contractors.
**The following skills/experience are welcome, but not essential**:
- A passion and ongoing interest in cleantech and commercialization of emerging technologies.
- Some understanding of chemical terminology and symbols.
- Experience writing grants or customer proposals or performing grant administration.
- Graphics design skills including experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience managing digital advertising campaigns.
- Experience handling public, government, and media inquiries.
