- Manage and facilitate the plant & Terminal training programs, including planning plant training sessions. Review existing task training and identify additional critical tasks requiring task training, incident investigations and safety audits. Engagement and training of contractors so we operate safely and consistently and demonstrate high standards of HSE compliance.
- Instruct and facilitate, as required, St-Marc-des-Carrières plant and Joliette Terminal accident investigations that will be led by the Safety Committee members. Assist in the assessment of accidents, first aids, good catches and near misses; and in Root Cause Analyses. Utilize investigation results to ensure a reduction in future accidents.
- Actively participate on plant Safety Committee and promote employee engagement to develop an active and robust safety culture. Ensure Safety Committee meetings minutes are published Follow up on attendee action items to ensure that the Safety Committees are effective. Organize internal facility audits of safety processes.
- Use analytical data to develop actions plans for the safety committee to drive overall improvement of plant and terminal safety culture. Work with other plant and corporate environmental health and safety professionals to promote the OneGraymont strategic approach.
- Complete quarterly, semi-annual reports. Coordinate reporting activities with Corporate HSE to ensure all reports are completed accurately and on time to province and federal regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate plant functions with Corporate HSE to plan and implement on-sites source testing. Ensure compliance with all internal and external environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and execute action plan to improve environmental performance against province, federal and Graymont Environmental Standards.
- Ensure that the highest standards are achieved in the areas of safety, personnel, plant efficiency, availability, envoronmental compliance and product quality.
- Lead and develop an effective engaged workforce withing the plantthat works well with other functions: maintenance, sales, human ressources, engineering, etc.
- Participate as a critical member of the North Shore Operations manangement team.
- Perform “on-call” duties on rotation with the supervisory team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Proven track record of safety compliance and monitoring activities that include review and submission of safety related reports.
- Proven track record of environmental compliance and monitoring activities that include review and submission of permit related environmental reports.
- Proven training, teambuilding and leadership skills.
- A combination of three years education or applicable industrial experience in the areas of safety and environmental compliance.
- Excellent communication (verbal, written and listening) skills.
- Demonstrate consistent commitment to a value added focus when problem solving.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Successful in both team and individual-based work environments.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
