Hiring Unit: School of Physical and Occupational Therapy

Course Title and Course Number: Foundations of Professional Practice POTH-563

Estimated Number of Positions: 1 position of 135 hours. Also open to splitting this into 2 positions of 65 hours each.

**Job Description**:
Under the supervision of and in collaboration with the course coordinators (Shaun Cleaver and Susanne Mak), the teaching assistant (TA) will participate in the following course activities:
- Coordinate mentor groups- Prepare clinical cases for midterm assignment- Attend lectures on the Canadian Health Care System and the Quebec Healthcare System (approx. 15 hours)- Co-facilitate in-class group exercises as needed- Co-facilitate labs with main instructors
- _Principles pour le déplacement sécuritaire des personnes _(PDSP); group size=20-30)- Co-evaluate sections of assignments, exams, and other forms of assessment

Note that daytime and occasional evening hours are required.

**Salary**: $33.03/hour

Desired Major(s): Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy

Desired Degree Level: Masters & Grad Dips & Certs

Qualifications: Current Masters or Doctoral student (OT or PT) in Rehabilitation Sciences at SPOT.

The following are not required but are considered assets to this TAship:
- Knowledge of PDSP.- Experience working in the Quebec healthcare sector including familiarity with system reforms.- Ability to read (and evaluate student submissions) in French.- Graduate teaching experience.
