Job Title: Solventless Adhesive Laminator (SAL) Helper

Department: Lamination

Reports To: Finishing Manager/Supervisor

**Job Summary**:
To assist the SAL Operator safely, efficiently, productively while producing a quality product in accordance to company and customer specifications.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities:

- Assist in the operation of the SAL (solventless-adhesive-laminator)
- Load and unload printed and non-printed rolls on Laminator with the assistance of lifting carts and hoist.
- Interpret and understand written information, (Orders, SOP's, print roll tickets, etc.)
- Secure finished laminated rolls to pallet with wood chucks and straps securely and to SOP instructions..
- Operate air powered pumps
- Safe handling of solvents and adhesives
- Assemble glue assembly and hoses as needs
- Assist in starting up machine from a complete shut down
- Assist in cleaning machine up and putting into a complete shut down
- Read and interpret manufacturing spec's (M-Spec)
- Attach proper information to unused raw material
- Keep machine and surrounding area safe and clean
- Spot and be able to determine visual defects quickly within 10 minutes of running
- Follow all Safety requirements (i.e. lifting, cutting, clothing, etc.)
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
- Complete tasks in adequate time limits, as to meet daily goal and schedule needs.
- Complies with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP's) and any job or department specific SOP's.

SOP's may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)Employee Health and Safety
SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.
SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP's
- Must work within productivity standards and completes work in a timely manner.
- Special Projects & other duties as necessary

Supervisory Responsibilities: (if any)

None

Working Conditions:

- Ability to work 12-hour standard shifts (consistently)
- Ability to work up to 11 days consecutively (occasionally)
- Ability to work in a non-air conditioned environment: hot conditions during summer months and cool conditions during winter months. (consistently)
- May have excessive walking at times up to 85% of shift
- Workaround solvent/ink/glue fumes/other solvents used in printing manufacturing.
- Work in tight places at random times.
- Follow all safety regulations and rules at all times, including wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE):Steel tip boots or shoes

Hairnets and beard nets
- _This position is a 'safety-sensitive' position. Individuals in this position are required to submit to post-incident drug and alcohol testing._

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to use a computer (basic computer skills)
- Basic math skills
- Good organizational skills
- Communicate well with others
- Basic reading skills
- Basic writing skills (must be legible)
- Use of minor tools (i.e. allen wrenches)
- Use of sharp cutting tools
- Process written information (orders, SOP's, etc.)
- Common sense and planning ahead

Other knowledge, skills and abilities:

- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality of information to Company and Federal standards.
- Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment, manage competing demands and be able to deal with frequent changes, delays or unexpected events.
- Must be dependable and work within Company conduct standards; consistently at work and on time, follows instructions, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.

Physical Demands:

- Lifting ability, up to 50 lbs. consistently and up to 70 lbs. occasionally
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Bending
- Twisting
- Extensive use of hands and fingers
- Extensive time on feet walking/standing
- Use of ladder (if needed)
- Use of PC and keyboard for data entry
- Ability to complete production paperwork
