Reporting to the Site Manager, the Hospitality Worker - Housekeeping is primarily responsible for duties related to (but not limited to) the cleaning of resident suites and common areas with a focus on resident satisfaction, optimal presentation of the building and infection control. A clear understanding and practice of housekeeping and sanitation practices is required.
Evanston Summit housekeeping services provides exceptional service through continued improvement and a focus on resident-centered service. The Hospitality Worker contributes to the team in a confidant and enthusiastic manner, creating a culture in the building in which residents will feel respected, valued and cared about and part of a community, and where the best efforts and trust of the staff is drawn out to create high levels of satisfaction and contentment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Regularly shows a friendly presence in the common areas and resident suites, to welcome comments and suggestions. Assists with special events
- Attentive care and consideration of resident, staff and visitors requests
- Responsible for ordering housekeeping supplies and chemicals.
- Cleans offices, staff room and common areas according to established procedures and schedules, as required.
- Replenishes paper supplies, hand soap as required. Maintains housekeeping storage area, cart and equipment.
- Vacuums all carpet areas in the residence. Removes spots and stains from carpets and upholstery as required and according to established cleaning schedules. Operates carpet and floor cleaning equipment as required.
- Picks up and disposes of garbage from waste containers to central garbage depot area.
- Instructs residents in the use of equipment, washing machines and offers assistance in any other area of concern.
- Performs additional cleaning as required, including washing walls, lights, vents, fans, appliances, inside windows, door and frames, and patios.
- Ensures that high standards of sanitation, cleanliness and safety are maintained throughout the building.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives. Ensures a sanitary working and production environment in accordance with accepted practices and standards.
- Assistance with monthly inventory. Submits orders to suppliers when necessary.
- Ensures all Covenant Living policies are adhered to
- Other duties - As assigned by the Site Manager, will perform other duties in facility.

**What you bring to the role**:

- This position requires a minimum Grade 12 education, food safety certificate, First Aid & CPR certification.
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and desktop publishing programs.
- 5 years of direct experience within a service/hospitality industry is preferred
- Ability to show initiative, work alone and independently without supervision, able to set priorities, self-motivated, able to work under pressure and deal with people in a conflict situation.
- Knowledge of and ability to make decisions conforming to Covenant Living’s established policies and procedures.
- Ability to maintain good working relations with staff, public and outside agencies.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, time management and communication skills.
