Ground Transfer Primary Care Paramedic

**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Medical Program Manager and the Director of SOCC and Medevac, the Ground Transfer Primary Care Paramedic (PCP) will accompany patients in ground transfers to and from airport and Healthcare Facility and if required accompany the Flight AMS in Air Ambulance Transfers. They are to act in direct patient care during the transportation of patients requiring medical attention.
The Ground Transfer PCP works closely with the other members of the crew and flight followers. They must be in constant communication to ensure that Ground Medevac transfers are performed efficiently and effectively.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**
- Direct patient care during all aspects of the transportation of patients requiring medical attention
- Educate patients about their health
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records
- Work closely with the other members of the crew (pilots), Flight AMS, flight followers and other groups also involved in the transfer of patients
- Maintain constant communication with the different groups internally and externally to ensure that Medevacs are performed efficiently and effectively
- Within this capacity, act as a representative for Perimeter Aviation LP and report to the Medical Program Manager/Director of SOCC and Medevac and the Medical Director
- Ensure on-time performance as it relates to chute time and response times
- Ensure that all equipment checklists are completed as per protocol
- Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System
- Perform additional duties as assigned
**Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications**
- Current registration with College of Paramedics of Manitoba as a Primary Care Paramedic (PCP)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Current Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support Certification (PHTLS or ITLS)
- Minimum four years’ experience and flight experience considered an asset
- Child Abuse Registry check, current
- Criminal Record check, current
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
- Valid driver’s licence required
- Valid passport
- Completed aeromedical training course approved by the Minister (CAMATA) preferred but not required
- Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
**Working Conditions**
- Physically able to perform all listed job duties.
- Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role.
- Must adhere to the modified work agreement.
- On call 24/7 when on shift.
- Ability to lift, load and secure patients, equipment and baggage in confined space.
- Manual dexterity required to use tablet and desktop computer.
- Work performed both indoors and outdoors: contact with staff and the public; employee must be able to adapt to outdoor weather conditions.
- Safety equipment and medical PPE where required e.g. hearing protection and safety vest.
