The Program provides **psycho-educational** community-based workshops, groups, and 1-to-1 counselling services from a trauma-informed, resiliency perspective to women 19 years of age and older who have experienced domestic violence. The program provides assessment, referrals to resources, and documentation of services provided.

**Reports to**: Program Manager

**Key Responsibilities**: Working under the direction of and in conjunction with the
Program Manager, the successful applicant:

- Is responsible for and provides Group & Workshop Work, Individual work,

Agency work and Community work.
- Provides professional expertise to assist clients to establish appropriate goals and service plans for services. Uses a variety of techniques to assist clients to set and obtain goals during sessions paying attention to individual clients’ needs and outcomes.
- Provides assessment services to gather case history and other relevant service information Identifies and assesses the immediate emotional/behavioral issues that have led the client to seek or be referred to services. Assesses the safety of clients and supports them in reducing safety risks.
- Prepares and submits all reports, service summaries and other program documentation requested in a timely manner. Maintains and provides statistics and reports regarding service delivery as required. Daily maintains the TCT data base system to maintain client files and data.
- Keeps up-to-date with program and agency policies, procedures and practices, as well as with software collection systems.
- Develops and implements on-line and off-line workshops to strengthen families by breaking the cycle of abuse. Collaborates with co-facilitator(s) in conducting groups.
- Participates in professional development activities in order to stay current in the field of trauma informed counseling, treatment and interventions.
- Engages in regular, individual and group clinical supervision sessions with supervisor and/or clinical consultant.
- Participates in or initiates case conferences with other professionals as required.
- Attends and participates in staff meetings, and other agency meetings as required.
- Consults with peers, collaborates, and establishes liaison with other community professionals and agencies as required to assist with individual client cases and to maintain up-to-date knowledge of community resources.
- Participates in various processes necessary to carry out and achieve the society’s mandate, such as, but not limited to, collection and analysis of data through WISH, and performing continuous quality improvement tasks.
- Performs other related Agency duties as directed by Program Manager.

T**raining and Experience**:

- A Bachelor’s Degree in a related human / social service field from a university of recognized standing together with two years’ experience working in community
- based services facilitating groups and/ or workshop services to women who have experienced violence and trauma issues as well as one-on-one individual services.
- Strong facilitation, listening, counselling/coaching and communication skills with specialized training, knowledge, and skills service delivery from a trauma informed perspective.
- A second language is an asset.

**Job Skills and Abilities**:

- Demonstrate knowledge and skills using relevant formal facilitation techniques / counselling and experiential group processes and approaches by means of a feminist and client-centered perspective.
- Demonstrated experience of assessment techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal behavior and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to work independently and collaboratively with good organizational, time and self-management skills.
- Demonstrate ability to build, and steward community connections and to collaborate with inter-agencies and community
- Demonstrate initiative, effectiveness, and efficiency of service delivery.
- Demonstrate current computer skills necessary to operate data collection systems.
- Aligns with the philosophy, policies, and procedures of the society.
- Demonstrate cultural competency.
- Demonstrate knowledge of community resources
