Detailed Overview:
**Supporting the Vision, Values, Purpose and Commitments of Fraser Health including service delivery that is centered around patients/clients/residents and families**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Supports the implementation of FH-wide planetary health strategy, including climate change mitigation and health adaptation actions. Works across the organization to coordinate, plan prioritize activities, develop timelines, allocate resources and implement change management plans.
- Establishes project charter, objectives, timelines and critical path, collaboration with partners, engagement of appropriate resources, facilitation of project activities, progress monitoring, problem resolution, and recommendations to senior leadership team.
- Collaborates with the Medical Health Officer, EES and other leaders on other work related to climate change and health.
- Contributes to relationship building with external partners, and contributes to intersectoral action initiatives with municipal and First Nation staff (e.g., emergency managers), as well as those that provide health-related services and other allied services.
- Identifies key strategies, provides oversight of implementation (timelines, progress, accountabilities and budget), and leads partners toward the achievement of project goals through effectively communicating the project vision, coordinating resources, advancing priorities, and promoting collaboration and commitment of key partners.
- Develops and strengthens external linkages with community, various levels of government, education institutes, other health regions, and other health related organizations to promote the exchange of information and ideas and to ensure FH actions and policy development are integrated, responsive and targeted.
- Pursues, develops and maintains research and knowledge translation partnerships to address knowledge gaps.
- Collaborates with systems optimization, and external organizations like BC Centres for Disease Control and Ministry of Health to advance surveillance and reporting for climate-sensitive health outcomes.
- Represents FH on F/P/T climate change committees and advisory groups and supports FH’s web and social media presence.
- Coordinates engagement with other health sector actors including Health Canada, BC Ministry of Health, other regional Health Authorities, First Nations Health Authority, and the Provincial Health Services Authority.
- Monitors funding opportunities, assists with recruiting partners, manages proposals, develops contracts, monitors performance of consultants, and responsible for reporting of funded projects.
- Scans and synthesizes literature and projects relating to climate change projections, human health and health system impacts, vulnerability and risk assessment, adaptation options, equity, change management, implementation science, monitoring and evaluation, and intersectoral action. Summarizes findings for FH leaders, staff and community partners.
Qualifications:
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
A level of education, training, and experience equivalent at a minimum, to a PhD in a discipline related to Environmental Health, sustainability, climate action, plus seven (7) years’ of recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Previous experience in project management, supervision of contractors/consultants, preparing and managing project budgets, and securing grant funding. Experience in a public health agency at the regional, provincial, or federal level an asset.
