**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a full-time Network Technician with a passion for ensuring optimal network performance and the successful operation of diverse systems. Our information technology systems department is a key component in enabling our superior customer service and in continually improving our operating performance. By leveraging your knowledge of network hardware and your ability to troubleshoot issues efficiently, you will contribute to the reliability of our network and technology infrastructure. This position will report to the Manager - IT Infrastructure and is required to start at 7:00am (or earlier) each morning.

Van-Kam Freightways Ltd. (Van Kam) is one of the largest regional carriers in Western Canada specializing in less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation. With 8 terminal locations across British Columbia, we fulfill shipments to communities within 1-3 days throughout BC and Alberta. Between our own resources and our partner network, our coverage extends beyond Western Canada into the U.S. and Eastern Canada.

**Responsibilities**:

- Working with the infrastructure of the network; general hardware and peripheral support functions (PC's, routers, switches, servers, phone system, mobile phones, printers, scanners, security cameras).
- Involved in non-enterprise systems such as Office 365, vehicle tracking, electronic driver log systems, MS Dynamics GP etc. in conjunction with the Systems Support team.

**Required Qualifications**:
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Office 365

**Training and Experience**
- 2-3 years' experience as a Network Technician.
- Hands-on experience with sophisticated networks, hardware, and peripherals.
- Have relevant academic qualifications in the field or a combination of experience and basic certifications such as CompTIA A+ and Network+.
