**Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Build and maintain positive rapport with participants, caregivers, stakeholders.
- Provide emotional and physical support to those with diverse abilities.
- Support one to multiple participants at a time, depending on the participants' needs.
- Support and assist participants with their personal care and ADL’s such as; toileting, feeding, medication, mobility equipment, shopping, employment, indoor and outdoor activities, transportation, community inclusion, recreation.
- Provide and maintain quality care that meets required and mandatory standards.
- Document daily, accurate and pertinent information about the participants.
- Demonstrate a collaborative and supportive approach when working in a team.
- Receive direction from and report to the program coordinator and manager.
**Skills and Abilities**:
- Verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
- Written and verbal reporting skills.
- Critical thinking under high-stress or crisis situations.
- Knowledge of CLBC and health and safety standards and practices.
- Knowledge of positive behaviour supports.
- Ability to network effectively within the community.
- Ability to adapt to meet the individualized needs of participants based on their personal program plans, including providing personal care.
- Ability to work independently with 1 or more persons with diverse abilities.
- Team oriented in small and large groups.
**Qualifications and Requirements**:
- Post-secondary certification related to human/social services sector, or an accepted combination of education and experience.
- Class 5 Driver's License
- Current Driver’s Abstract
- Valid First Aid with CPR certification
- Criminal Record Check
- Food Safe
- Proof of Double Covid-19 Vaccination
- Proof of SIN and residency
- Health Clearance
- CLBC Privacy Training
**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 8-40 per week
**Salary**: $25.05-$28.75 per hour
