The Construction Manager (CM) is responsible for overseeing the on-site construction of residential and commercial scale solar projects throughout the construction phase. The CM is the on-site representative and is the main point-of-contact for all subcontractors, consultants and third parties on the project site. The CM’s primary role is to oversee the execution of the construction work on-site, to ensure contractors are holding to their contractual obligations specifically in terms of safety, quality, schedule and budget. The CM works closely with the Project Management Team. To be successful the CM must complement the PM’s contractual and management expertise with their own construction and on-site expertise.

**Duties and Responsibility**
- Provide daily reports and updates to the COO and the PM on the construction progress, including quality and safety metrics.
- Managing the construction of the residential and commercial solar portfolio.
- Prepare project construction schedules and create cost status breakdown reviews for over/underestimated builds.
- Coordinate with consultants, project engineers and electrical inspectors at project site.
- Manage team of electrical and mechanical installation staff.
- Review of construction sites QA/QC on projects to ensure compliance to set requirements.
- Creating effective reporting mechanisms for reporting data across the company for visualization of project progress, outlining construction costs, challenges and potential risks.
- Pre-construction forecasting
- Work with the team to ensure project success.
- Developed weekly progress reports to facilitate project evaluation and process improvement.
- Maintain project quality with a hands-on management style.
- Maintain project schedules by managing timelines and making proactive adjustments.
- Direct planning, budgeting, vendor selection and quality assurance efforts.

**Qualifications**
- Have previously performed the above duties and responsibilities for solar projects.
- Expertise in construction processes and procedures.
- Ability to work with Microsoft office tools.
- Leadership experience in a construction setting.
- Construction management skills including best practices, leadership, planning, scheduling, budgeting, technical analysis, reporting, etc.
- Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards within the power industry, preferably within renewable energy.
- Ability to interpret and advise on power/utility and construction requirements and regulations considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, budgeting and tracking, with ability to develop and use financial and non-financial metrics and targets to ensure successful project completion.
- Superior level of technical knowledge (civil, structural, electrical construction materials, techniques, practical implications etc.) and ability to communicate technical data effectively, as well as make appropriate recommendations.
- Able to exercise independent judgement and discretion, as well as represent the company with the highest degree of professionalism.
- Excellent planning and time management skills, with ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.

**Job Requirements**
- 3-4 years experience in Construction Management.
- Degree in engineering, construction management or related field/equivalent experience.
- Have previously performed the above duties and responsibilities for residential/commercial scale solar projects.
- Physically capable of working in various site conditions, including working in varied weather conditions.
- Ability to occasionally work outside of regular business hours, as per operational requirements.

**Salary**: $25.00-$40.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime

Supplemental pay types:

- Bonus pay
- Overtime pay
