**Position Overview**:
The City of Prince Albert has a full-time permanent opportunity available as Audit Manager in our Financial Services Department. The Audit Manager ensures the City’s financial processes accurately record and report financial information and transactions. The Audit manager develops and tests new financial processes, performs the annual audit and also prepares the City’s financial statements and annual report. The position is also responsible for identifying potential financial irregularities including fraud and referring their findings for investigation.

**Principle Duties & Responsibilities**:
- Manage the preparation of the City’s financial statements and the audit of those financial statements. Involves the oversight of account reconciliations along with preparing items such as work papers, findings, and associated reports to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Manage the preparation of the City’s annual report and public accounts.
- Manage the preparation of other required financial reports relating to grant audits, PST audits, GST audits, and Statistics Canada Surveys.
- Co-ordinate and implement changes to accounting processes required due to legislation or direction from senior administration.
- Assist with any borrowing requirements such as borrowing bylaws and managing the City’s debt limit.
- Develop and monitor internal control procedures.
- Review and resolve inquiries related to more complex financial transactions.
- Support the budgeting process by assisting senior administration where necessary.
- Prepare, research and write reports to City Council and Senior Administration on various finance issues as required.
- Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring and enforcing policies, procedures, and Bylaws.
- Reports financial Irregularities for investigation.
**Required Qualifications**:
- Post-secondary Degree in Commerce or Business Administration and 2 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Chartered Professional Accountant Designation (CPA) or equivalent.
- Minimum of two experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial analysis, or other related financial activities.
- Relevant municipal experience would be considered an asset.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
- Knowledge of accounting principles and legislation affecting the financial reporting process.
- Ability to use a variety of computer programs, including database, word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software.
