Mortgage Underwriter

**Responsibilities**:

- Verify accuracy of borrower information and supporting documents
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Make underwriting decisions in a timely manner.
- Communicate underwriting decisions and requirements to loan officers and processors.
- Respond to inquiries and provide guidance to loan officers and processors.
- Monitor industry trends and recommend changes to underwriting guidelines and practices.
- Manage office operations and maintain office efficiency.
- Greet and assist visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings and appointments.
- Maintain and update company databases and files.
- Process and file paperwork and documentation
- Provide administrative support to submission senior underwriter.

Qualifications:

- Mortgage License is an asset. but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in mortgage underwriting or 2+ years of experience in mortgage administration or banking experience; related field
- Proficient in OneNote, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word is an asset but not required.
- Strong knowledge of mortgage industry regulations and guidelines
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in CRM programs is an asset but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
