Internship: Field Service Technician

Eaton’s ESSG CA Canada division is currently seeking a Field Service Technician Intern.

**What you’ll do**:
**Primary Function**:
This position is responsible for servicing uninterruptible power supplies and batteries and other company electronic-based products in a high voltage environment at the customer’s site.

**Essential Functions**:

- Assist in creating detailed and quality reports to customers covering the scope of work performed.
- Follow required safety practices.
- Manage paperwork and office procedures, as required.
- Assist the team in performing emergency and preventive maintenance and installation on a 24/7 on-call basis with regional responsibility.
- Responsible for performing on-site or in-house servicing and repair of company products.
- Provide technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of system equipment and serve as the customer contact on technical and service-related problems.
- Proficiency in the following:

- Test Equipment Operation.
- Troubleshooting Techniques.
- Be willing and available to work evenings and weekends, as required by our customers.
- Perform all job functions with adherence to Eaton’s Philosophy and Values, as well as Safety and Environmental standards.
- Perform other duties, as required

**Qualifications**:
**Basic Qualifications**:

- Currently enrolled in a Co-Op Program in Electrical Engineering or completed an Electrical Engineering Technology program
- Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship
- This position does not offer relocation
- Valid driver’s license required

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- 0 - 5 years of experience in manufacturing electrical controls and/or power distribution products
- Good understanding of single phase and three-phase circuit theory, analog and digital electronic circuit theory and microprocessor controls and programming.
- Basic understanding of UPS between 100-500 KVA, 100 KVA and below.
- Basic understanding of electrical distribution systems and schemes.
- Ability to read and utilize drawings, handbook formulas and a variety of precision diagnostic instruments.

**Skills**:

- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong analytic skills using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Good attitude and work ethic
