**Key Accountabilities**:

- Assist with case preparation including patient assessment, patient positioning, performing and assisting with intubation, anesthesia and intravenous access for surgical patients:

- Monitor anaesthetized patients in accordance with the medical directive
- Administration of appropriate medications as directed
- Ensure appropriate performance and maintenance of anaesthesia related equipment
- Participate in quality improvement monitoring and other initiatives perioperative program
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary perioperative team with reporting accountability to perioperative manager with professional accountability to Chief Anesthesia
- Schedule expectations include: 24 hours a day and weekends - 8 or 10 hour shifts plus on-call

**Qualifications**:

- Certified Anaesthesia Assistant
- A member in good standing with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario or the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Possess a current B.C.L.S., NRP, and A.C.L.S.
- Minimum three years experience as an RT or AA- Ability to teach Respiratory Therapy students
- Superior organization and project management skills
- Must be able to work under pressure and in emergency situations-
