**Job Purpose**:
The Labourer/Picker is responsible for day-to-day duties on site needed to complete work in a safe and timely fashion and maintain a clean work site.

This position must also adhere to our safety program and work as a contributing member of the site team.

Due to the safety sensitive nature of the role, we require that you are over the age of 18. Additionally, this position requires pre-employment and potentially reasonable cause or post-incident testing, including Alcohol and Drug testing which includes marijuana.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

- Ensure all SECURE safety policies and procedures are followed
- Be cognizant of and adhere to any site-specific safety requirements
- Partake in all safety related meetings including: daily tail gates, last minute risk assessment, etc.
- Sweeping
- Monitoring
- Sampling
- Spotting for trucks
- Familiarity with operating and servicing small equipment such as forklifts, industrial shredders, cut off saws, stationary baler is an asset
- Responsible for general manual labor
- Responsible for sorting non-ferrous material, cutting material to size and packaging
- Must have an understanding of all power and small hand tools
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment
- Clean, lubricate and fuel all equipment and general site housekeeping
- Notify supervisor and or repair shop of any required work to be done
- Other related duties as required

**Qualifications/Competencies**

The individual in this role will have:

- General laboring and or farm experience an asset but not required
- Basic comprehension and ability to follow SECURE’s Workplace Health and Safety requirements relevant to the assigned work site, including but not limited to SECURE’s safety and hazard assessment process
- Must have an understanding of all power and small hand tools
- Ability to complete safety documentation in an accurate and timely manner
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, shoveling, moving containers and other heavy materials
- Strong work ethic and willingness to persevere through difficult weather conditions, challenging work site environments, and long demanding work days
- Ability to manage weather and/or seasonal interruptions in work schedule
- Certification in WHIMS, H2S, CSTS, First Aid would be considered an asset
- Fit-for-Work each day
