A Corporate Banking Analyst at BMO Capital Markets, supports the origination, structuring and maintenance of corporate lending transactions, the cross sale of treasury products and coordination with other BMO product lines as an integral part of a larger coverage team that maintains strong client relationships. The role sits within the Financial Institutions Group which provides client coverage and lending expertise to clients in the financial sector (predominately brokers, asset & wealth managers and funds). The Corporate Banking Analyst will help to establish credit facilities to support the business needs of our client base including facilities for operating purposes, acquisitions and trading products business. The Corporate Banking Analyst will support the broader team in cross selling treasury products (e.g. FX / treasury products, cash management & corporate cards, investment management, securitization, etc.) while remaining focused on the ongoing management of the lending portfolio. Key responsibilities may include:

- Processing client requests (e.g. new credit facilities and extensions and/or amendments to existing credit facilities)
- Completing annual/interim credit reviews, which include industry and financial analysis comprising of operating performance, cash flow, leverage, coverage and liquidity, and capital-at-risk and other regulatory capital calculations
- Monitoring performance of portfolio companies against credit terms and conditions and identify changes in the financial condition of a client
- Monitors client, client industry and regulatory agencies for potential changes which may affect client’s portfolio and business needs.
- Applies appropriate technical concepts and completes/leads consistent and reliable technical and financial reports/analyses to support client deliverables.
- Creates financial models to analyze client portfolios and anticipate client needs.
- Completes due diligence and credit analysis on new and existing client relationships. May includes client visits, analysis of business models, and comprehensive review of industry trends and related regulations.
- Understand complexity of transactions and related risk (credit, market, operational, legal/compliance, etc.).
- Integrates information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.
- Considers risk, internal controls and compliance as part of day-to-day accountabilities and adheres to policies and procedures.
- Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.
- Provides analytical findings to deal teams
- Works independently on a range of complex tasks, which may include unique situations.
- Performs other duties including industry and company-specific research and ad hoc projects for senior management
- Prepares presentation materials and relationship profitability assessments, which involve liaising with other product and industry groups within BMO Capital Markets
- Creates pitch books for clients with respect to financial solutions and participate in their presentation to clients.
- Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
- Initiates contact with partners for new client sales.
- Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
- Identifies opportunities for increased efficiency and improved service to internal and external clients.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Typically between 0 to 4 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Undergraduate degree has academic coursework in finance, economics, or accounting with an outstanding academic achievement.
- Knowledge of capital markets, investment banking products and applicable regulations.
- Credit analysis experience/ understanding.
- Good knowledge of the organizational lending and portfolio management policies and objectives.
- Demonstrates solid deal/transaction execution and/or project management skills.
- Exceptional skills in quantitative analytics, financial modeling and credit analysis skills.
- Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.
