**The Role**:
The Quality Assurance Technician is an integral part of the quality assurance team as they are responsible for ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality in the plant. The Quality Assurance Technician follows quality procedures, monitors and verifies the efficiency and effectiveness of cleaning practices, and performs routine tests.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Understand, follow and enforce food safety policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) principles
- Monitor production Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) on a daily basis and work with production and the QA team to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of these procedures
- Complete environmental swab testing for allergens and bacteria to verify the effectiveness of cleaning
- Test and record the accuracy of production and laboratory equipment
- Complete microbial, compositional, and/or sensory testing of ingredients and products as needed to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain organized records and supply necessary documentation when requested
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with operations as needed

**What You’ll Need**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Science or similar field
- 1-2 years of experience in Dairy or Food Production, Manufacturing
- Experience using microbiology or chemistry lab equipment and handling chemicals safely
- Experience in food safety and food sanitation is preferred
- Experience with HACCP and GMP is an asset

**Salary**: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
