Edmonton, Canada Alberta Health Services Full time

**Your Opportunity**:
Do you like to discover the actionable insight in data? Do you have a passion for translating data into usable information? Do you enjoy transforming complex data into stunning, user-friendly visualizations? If so, this one-of-a-kind opportunity is your chance to join a small but mighty virtual team, working remotely to support activities that drive change for heart kids. The WCCHN is a unique, interprovincial program operating out of AHS in service to the five pediatric cardiac centres of Western Canada. For over 20 years, the WCCHN has linked expertise across sites, streamlined surgical referrals, and benchmarked clinical outcomes so that all children in Western Canada can have access to the highest standard of cadiac care available. Reporting to the Program Manager for WCCHN, the Health Informatics Specialist provides high level, comprehensive leadership and oversight for how the WCCHN collects, stores, processes, and communicates its data. Working closely with the team of Health Information Management Professionals and the WCCHN Systems Analyst who drive this work, the Health Informatics Specialist liaises between end users, key stakeholder groups, executive interprovincial leadership, internal/external IT teams, and third-party vendors to build and protect a data ecosystem that supports quality and integrity for an entirely unique and wholly western Canadian dataset. This position involves some administrative management, and a significant amount of process building, operational oversight, data validation, technical documentation, and risk mitigation/management. Moreso, this position takes the lead on bringing WCCHN data to life through the design, development, and implementation of either static or dynamic data visualizations used to inform administrative and clinical decision making.
