**Job Summary**

The Indigenous Adult, Youth, and/or Child Worker are responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating indigenous community-based recreational, social, and/or educational group activities within the agency. They will facilitate program activities according to agency protocols, focusing on Indigenous children, youth, and families. This position involves 28 hours per week, with onsite program delivery at Connections Community Services Society and offsite venues as required. Preference will be given to qualified Indigenous applicants.

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**

1. Gather information relevant to the client’s problems, needs and risks by interviewing, observing behaviour, meeting with caregivers and service providers and using a variety of inventories, checklists, and questionnaires. Review the information gathered to identify problems, needs and risks.

2. Develop and implement short-term, issue-specific intervention plans within program guidelines in consultation with the management.

3. Outline services provided by the program and/or organization. Provide information on and referral to other community service providers, resources and professionals as required.

4. Maintain related records and statistics and provides reports to the management as required.

5. Liaise with and/or advocate for clients with other Richmond community service providers, professionals and school personnel as needed. Accompany clients to meetings and appointments as required.

6. Create a safe space for local Indigenous children, youth, and families to engage in cultural and/or art activities and socialize.

7. Supervise and deliver indoor and outdoor cultural activities or games for clients.

8. Create spring and/or summer day camp schedule and run camps.

9. Assist in promoting social media marketing materials and develop a social media plan for the Indigenous program, including Instagram statistics, client personas, ad information, and a social media posting schedule, etc.

10. Performs other duties as required by the agency.

**Qualifications Education and Knowledge**

Diploma in a related human / social service field. Applicant should have strong knowledge and experience with Indigenous communities and issues.

**Training and Experience**

One (1) year recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
