Driller - Foundation Piling
Midwest Caissons (2014) Inc. is currently hiring for a Full-time Driller in the Edmonton area.

Midwest Caissons has been in operation for over 20 years and is a foundation piling company with 8 foundation drilling machines in our fleet and is quickly growing.
This job involves work mainly around the Edmonton area; however, there may also be some inter-Provincial travel required. In some cases, there may even be work located in the Saskatchewan and British Columbia regions.
The Driller utilizes their problem solving skills to safely and effectively install piles to the highest standards while achieving tight timelines.The Driller position is a supervisory role and involves working on different crews doing various jobs, so having skills in a number of areas, as well as being able to get along with people, is important.
**Responsibilities**:
- Operate foundation drill rig equipment to complete piling operations on various job-sites (Various equipment such as; Soilmec SR35, Watson 2500, MAIT HR130, Highway FD60)
- Act as a liaison between contractors and all necessary suppliers on a day-to -day basis.
- Represent Midwest Caissons on each assigned Job site by maintaining positive relationships with contractors and subcontractors
- Participate in daily/weekly and monthly safety meetings and document equipment safety inspections
- Utilize the digital Safety platform, SiteDocs for all day-to-day safety equipment inspections and reporting.
- Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment safely at all times
- Co-operate with and assist the Pile Inspector
- Measure and record information in a timely and effective manner
- Maintaining a clean work area
- Operating a Skid Steer to level dirt and move tools (when necessary)
- Follow all OH&S work safe requirements as well as the policies and procedures laid out in the Midwest Caissons Inc. Safety manual.
- Read and understand the pile drawings and specifications prior to and during the job
- Conduct daily site-specific hazard assessments
- Keep orderly paperwork and return them to the office in a timely manner
- Fill out daily inspection log books and conduct routine maintenance on all equipment
- Maintaining a safe work area, clear of hazards for other employee’s & contractors
- Manage a crew by delegating job tasks and responsibilities on a daily basis
**Qualifications**
- 5+ years Piling experience
- Experience running a Foundation Drilling Machine is necessary
- Tooling experience
- Experience running a Foundation Drilling Machine is necessary
- Experience operating a John Deere Skidsteer
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work closely with co-workers as a team.
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Must be able to accept and provide necessary direction.
- Must have a Valid Driver License
This is a fast paced position that will require an individual who has strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.
**Salary**: $32.00-$38.00 per hour
