**Environmental Technician**

**Caledon, ON**

**Role Purpose**
- Environmental data procurement, assessment, and interpretation
- Planning and conducting soil and groundwater sampling programs and environmental site assessments using a variety of techniques
- Coordination of Environmental Site Assessments, including ordering background information, Freedom of Information Act requests and historical documents
- Overseeing subcontractors (ie. Drill Rig Operators, Excavation Operators, Ontario One Call Locates and Private Locators)
- Knowledge of soil classification, particularly soil lithologies found within Ontario, is an asset
- Previous work experience supervising drill rig operators and overseeing the installation of groundwater monitoring wells
- Using appropriate technology and equipment to collect field data
- Reporting duties will consist of the preparation of site drawings / plans, completion of final borehole / monitoring well logs, interpolating data through analytical tables and assisting Project Managers / Engineers with general reporting
- Conducting environmental monitoring to document adherence to environmental protection regulations
- Traveling for field work, mainly throughout the GTA
- In addition to the Environmental duties of this position, the position may also require periodical geotechnical duties to be performed

**Position Requirements**:

- A completed college diploma specializing in environmental engineering technology, environmental management & assessment, or a similar program
- 1 to 2 years of environmental consulting experience
- Groundwater and soil sampling experience, including drilling supervision and oversight of monitoring well installation
- Experience completing Phase One and Two Environmental Site Assessments, including site inspections and historical records acquisition and reviews
- Technical proposal and report preparation experience would be an asset
- Attention to detail in the completion of project-critical documentation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization skills and the ability to schedule multiple tasks within set deadlines for various stages of projects, including field work and reporting
- Knowledge of Ontario Regulations 153/04 and 406/19
- Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team environment
- Excellent Microsoft Outlook, MS Word and Excel skills
- Proven people and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals
- Proven ability to utilize current technologies
- Proven ability to take initiative and leadership
- Strong problem solving skills
- A strong foundation of Health & Safety practices
- Must have a valid “G” driver’s license or equivalent and clean drivers abstract
