**Project Lead - Indigenous General Carpentry Pre-Apprenticeship Program**

**Temporary Full-Time - 35 hours/week, $33.38/hour**

- This assignment is the result of funding in partnership with the Kenjgewing Teg Education Institute (KTEI) and the First Peoples’ Centre called the Indigenous General Carpentry Pre-Apprenticeship Program. The position will be located at the KTEI Campus in the M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island_
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Three year Diploma/Degree in Human Services, Bachelor of Social Sciences, Arts or Education
- Minimum two (2) years practical work experience in liaison, Indigenous student supports, event planning, communications, marketing initiatives, tours, public speaking, and customer service
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Proficiency with computer and report writing technology
- Direct, extensive, and in-depth knowledge and experience working with First Nations in an educational setting
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Sound judgement and problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of a Cree or Ojibwe language is an asset
- In-person, on-campus position; must be able to reliably commute to the M’Chigeeng First Nation on Manitoulin Island
**DUTIES**:
- Responsible for project management support to the Manager using the work plan developed to implement the project
- Establish out-of-reach and recruiting and act as the primary liaison between the College, First Nation communities and employers
- Provide one-on-one student support services and referrals for Indigenous students while in the program
- Maintain project and communication plans, financial accountability documentation and monitor progress with the third-party evaluator on key milestones and project deliverables
- Work collaboratively with the divisions within the College, especially the trade area, ensuring accessible, quality educational experiences that meet the unique needs of the students in the program
- Independent travel to First Nation communities in addition to frequent trips to other campuses and/or local agencies
