- _Reports to Operations Manager_
- _Direct and coordinate daily operations of the plant_
- _Create and implement strategic improvements for production, quality, and labour utilization throughout the plant_
- _Provide leadership to ensure effective utilization of plant personnel and equipment_
- _Collaborate with functional departments in the implementation of improvements_
- _Basic understanding of construction quotes for metal roofing & siding_
- _Provide quotes for retail customers_
- _Ensure company policies and procedures are followed _
- _Screen, interview and manage the onboarding process of new hires in coordination with Human Resources_
- _Operate equipment to assist in production process when necessary_
- _Inspect finish products for defects to ensure quality standards are met_
- _Check stock levels and report deficiencies in products_
- _Provide training and educational materials to staff as necessary_
- _Monitor equipment and ensure they are in good working order_
- _Coordinate maintenance and repairs to ensure a safe working environment_
- _Enforce health and safety protocols during all stages of production_
- _Create and maintain a production schedule_
- _Must be a steward of Lean Manufacturing principles_
- _Oversee all shipments, incoming inventory, and storage operations_
- _Practice conflict resolution among employees_
- **Responsibilities**:_
- _Plan and coordinate manufacturing operations for production, machinery, processing and packaging departments_
- _Ensure that production line schedules are in accordance with facility capabilities, customer requirements and financial planning_
- _Manage materials replenishment, quality standards, and performance metrics in support of organizational goals and objectives_
- _Manage cost structures for manufacturing by keeping operations expenses within budget allowance, and investigate cost-reductions measures_
- _Create documentation protocols and ensure that all records of operations are properly maintained and reviewed_
- **Required skills and qualifications**:_
- _5+ years of experience in plant operations_
- _Proven skills in leadership and supervision_
- _Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise_
- _Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, inventory and stewardship processes_
- _Ability to create accountability and to lead by example_
- _Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills_
- _Attention to detail_
- _Prior experience in a production setting preferred_
- _Understand basic fraction calculations and read a tape measure_
- _Experience with general power tools, skill saw, circular saw_
- _Ability to lift heavy loads up to and including 50 lbs_
- _Clean driver’s abstract, Class 5 license, forklift ticket_
- _Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines_

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $27.00-$29.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week

**Experience**:

- plant management: 3 years (preferred)
