Electrical Drafter

Moon-Matz Ltd. Consulting engineering firm in Oakville, Ontario requires an energetic, dynamic individual to join our electrical department.

Full time position reporting to the staff manager of the Electrical Building Service section. Job functions will involve preparation of design drawings for power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, life safety, emergency power, security, communications and data using AutoCAD and Microstation software packages.

Tasks include:

- Prepare engineering designs and drawings
- Read blueprints to determine work requirements
- Develop and prepare design sketches
- Prepare construction specifications, costs and material estimates
- Write specifications
- Estimate costs and materials
- Complete documentation packages and drawing sets
- Examine drawings for conformity and errors
- Consult with client, engineers or production specialists to establish product requirements
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microstation
- Certified Engineering Technologist eligibility is an asset
- Valid drivers license and vehicle an asset
- Knowledge of Electrical systems including power distribution and lighting
- Excellent general computer skills
- Good communication skills (English a must)
- Ability to work in an interactive team fast paced atmosphere

Pay: $24.00-$32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
