**Weighscale Operator**

**Public Works - Waste Management**

**Contract Part-Time; 12 months**

**Hourly Rate: $23.99**

**Work Mode**:On-Site

**Location**:2255 Battleford Road, Mississauga (Community Recycling Centre)

**Hours of Work**:19.5 hours/week (Week 1 - 23.25 hours Friday, Saturday, Sunday; Week 2 - 15.5 hours Saturday & Sunday) Additional 3.75 hours on Monday nights from May to the end of October.

**_The Role_**_:_**

Reporting to the Weighscale Operations Team Lead you will be responsible for the daily operations including the start up and shut down of the weighscale, data processing equipment, cash handling and balancing.

What you will do in this role_**_: _**
- Advise customers of facility protocols and requirements
- Adhere to pertinent Regional policies and regulations
- Deal with customer inquiries and incoming telephone calls
- Make appropriate financial transactions
- Create, maintain and distribute end of day reports through proper opening and closing procedures
- Complete daily Health and Safety checklists
- Other duties as assigned

**_ What the role requires_**_:_**
- Successful completion of a secondary school diploma combined with one (1) year related experience
- Strong customer service focus with point of sale experience
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
- Interpersonal skills to resolve and respond to internal and external clients
- Intermediate knowledge of computer equipment required
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Proven organization skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload effectively
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Basic bookkeeping, mathematical and computer skills
- Valid class "G" Ontario License and daily access to a vehicle
