**POSITION TITLE: CREW LEAD - GROUNDS**

**JOB SUMMARY**:
Summit Property Group is a service-oriented business striving to consistently meet or exceed the needs and expectations of our valued clients in a responsive, timely, and professional manner. The Crew leads and Supervisors play an integral leadership role in the hands-on delivery of our services and management of ongoing training and quality control procedures.

**MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- **GENERAL**

Actively participate as directed in the day-to-day activities of maintenance operations including but not limited to:

- Become familiar with and consistently abide by all company policies and procedures.
- Perform the assigned duties and responsibilities in a diligent and workmanlike manner in keeping with company standards and the specific defined scope of work for each property serviced.
- Be a champion for excellence, seeking improvements to systems, operations, and procedures that lead to improved performance and effectiveness of the organization.
- Complete and record accurate work orders, log sheets, and other documentation in accordance with company procedures, to be processed and stored in a timely and orderly manner.
- Minimize risk exposure.
- Ensure timely reporting and correction of all safety related incidents and violations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and reporting requirements.
- Ensure proper digital photographs obtained before and after completion of each work site.
- Performs shop/yard maintenance and cleaning tasks as determined via schedules.
- Cleans out work vehicles at the end of each day to ensure ongoing cleanliness.
- Maintain cleanliness of tools and equipment, ensuring they remain operational and in good repair, and are organized and put away at the end of each work day.
- Other duties as assigned/required.
- **JOB RELATED DUTIES**
- Ongoing Training, Coaching, and Mentoring of laborers.
- Lead by example, clarifying expectations from the outset, mobilizing crew members in a timely and efficient manner, and setting the pace for the duration of the workday.
- Upholding company Quality Control Standards Conduction Thorough Property Inspections
- Ensure consistent compliance with company standards regarding appearance, attire, and conduct of maintenance personnel.
- Identify and address quality control issues.
- Inspect what you expect, monitoring the work of the team members, guiding, and mentoring in a clear and supportive manner, and taking appropriate corrective action wherever necessary.
- Address training needs and fulfill training gaps as required.
- Acts as a support system to help the crews excel to the best of their abilities by making sure they receive the information and training required for success.
- Supporting your crews and working alongside them when staff shortages require you to do so.
- Communicating with management to improve and increase productivity, safety, and aid in creating a positive work environment.
- Observe crew members, build relationships and utilize individuals to the best of their ability.
- **GROUNDSKEEPING**
- Care for established lawns by mulching, aerating, weeding, removing thatch, and trimming and edging around flower beds, walks, and walls, under the direction of the Grounds keeping Supervisor/Crew lead.
- Mow and edge lawns
- Prune and trim trees, shrubs, and hedges, using shears, pruners or chain saws.
- Use hand tools such as shovels, rakes, pruning saws, saws, hedge and bush trimmers, and axes.
- **SNOW AND ICE**
- Thoroughly clears snow from sidewalks, walkways, and driveways using blowers, shovels, sweepers, or a combination thereof.
- Prepares areas for the usage of large equipment by clearing snow away from vehicles, garage doors, and other obstacles as required.
- **LARGE ITEMS/ABANDONED GOODS AND GARBAGE**
- Remove any and all abandoned large items and garbage from job site and dispose of at city landfill as contracted.

- Knowledge of powered equipment operation: Mowers, tractors, Twin-axle vehicle, chain saws, electric clippers, sod cutters, pruning saws, snow blowers, blow packs, sweepers, gas trimmers.
- Skills/Attributes: honest, responsible, reliable, punctual, detail oriented, sense of urgency, ability to work at a quick pace.

**EQUIPMENT REQUIRED**:

- Protective or Safety Equipment: Steel toed work boots, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, high visibility vest (company provided).
