**Job Summary**:
**Tornado is seeking a Finished Hydrovac Tester and an Assistant Hydrovac Tester, to increase our testing capacity. The Tester will be experienced in the operation of hydrovac trucks and will have, as a minimum, a valid Class 3Q Driver’s License. The Assistant Tester should be familiar with hydrovac equipment and could have, or be capable of acquiring, the required license. They will train to become a fully qualified Tester.**

The Finished Hydrovac Tester is responsible for monitoring the final assembly sign off process, performing visual inspections, finished product testing, and performing a variety of administrative functions and projects as assigned. By ensuring completed hydrovac units are fully functional and meet Tornado’s exacting specifications, the Quality Assurance Inspector creates value, providing customers a finished product that meets or exceeds their expectations.

**Key Responsibility Areas**:
**Monitor Final Assembly Process**
- Works with Assembly Supervisor to make sure customer specified requirements are met during build.
- Carries out Arrival Inspections of incoming chassis.
- Produces NSM documentation and fit NSM label in cab of truck.

**Visual Inspections**
- Performs visual inspections of the assembly process and works with the Assembly Supervisor to improve quality during final assembly of trucks.
- Performs visual inspections of final product assembly before testing.

**Finished Product Testing**
- Tests finished hydrovac truck using set procedure.
- Makes sure all functions of the truck are working and carries out repairs as testing progresses.
- Completes all documentation accurately and places in truck cab upon completion of testing.
- Work closely with Logistics Coordinator for delivery to customer of finished hydrovac truck.
- Driving trucks for weights and fuel.

**Administrative Functions**:

- Records vital statistics including major components serial numbers into the Job File.
- Produces final QA binder and service manuals that go with the truck.
- Makes sure deficiencies are fixed, retested and signed off.

**Projects / Other Assignments**:

- Works on related projects or initiatives as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Education: Grade 12, related coursework and/or certification.
- Experience: Previous quality control experience is desirable.
- Working knowledge of hydrovac truck operation is required.
- Certification**:Appropriate Driver’s License for truck operation - minimum Class 3Q.

**Working Conditions**:

- Work is performed in an industrial shop/yard that can be dusty and noisy and may present a variety of hazards. Work requires standing, kneeling, climbing, and crawling under equipment.
- Work can be indoors or out, in a wide variety of temperature and weather conditions.
- Worker must provide CSA-approved safety footwear and work clothing appropriate to conditions. Personal Protective Equipment is provided, and consistent use of appropriate PPE is a requirement of this position.
