Crofton is currently looking for an Environmental Coordinator. This position is responsible for providing technical support in all environmental aspects of our operation. Reporting to the Technical & Environmental Manager, this position will be a resource to all employees within our organization and provide direction on environmental initiatives, programs and reporting.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Work to meet and maintain conditions in the site’s regulatory permits and licenses to ensure compliance.
- Maintain compliance with provincial and federal environmental legislation, regulations, and codes of practice
- Perform internal environmental audits.
- Coordinate monitoring of water treatment plant and intake monitoring for fisheries obligations.
- Ensuring our safety and environmental systems comply with all regulatory requirements
- Supporting the Incident Investigation process
- Perform effluent quality tests on both treated and untreated effluent to ensure legal compliance and optimal operating conditions
- Conduct and Coordinate sampling and shipment of effluent samples to contract labs for compliance testing
- Maintain daily air and water statistical data for month end reporting to government officials and for in house trend monitoring
- Maintain on-site meteorological station and reporting to BC Environment
- Maintain off-site ambient air monitoring station and reporting monthly to BC Environment
- Arrange quarterly and annual stack tests with environmental consultants
- Coordinate groundwater sampling and testing around operational and closed landfills
- Monthly reporting of online electronic data to BC Environment and Environment Canada
- Monthly air testing

**Required Qualifications**:

- University degree in a related field - environmental science, environmental engineering, applied sciences.
- Experience in environmental regulatory management; working with regulatory agencies; and environmental quality management.
- Advanced understanding of environmental regulations and legislation.

- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills
- Strong interpersonal skills.

Salary $70,000 - $85,000 per annum (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
