**ASSETS AND PLANNING SUPERVISOR**

Halton Hills Hydro Inc. (HHH) is a progressive, community-focused electric distribution utility servicing approximately 23,000 customers across 281 sq. km within the Town of Halton Hills. This role is responsible for managing distribution assets and system planning, metering, stations, locates, and the Geographical Information System (GIS). This position reports to the Director of Engineering & Operations, and provides leadership and supervision to technical staff and internal and external stakeholders. In addition, this position will be a key driver for implementing new technology and grid automation within our system.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The duties and responsibilities for this position will include, but not be limited to, the following:

- Plan, organize, and assign responsibilities of the work to staff both for HHHI facilities and for in the field on the job site.
- Supervise, mentor and train staff as appropriate. Determine areas for developing proficiency.
- Ensure safety and corporate policy is followed.
- Develop and maintain operating budget.
- Develop, interpret and drive core maintenance and life cycle strategy in all areas of the distribution system.
- Participate in short and long range strategic planning related to asset management practices and processes.
- Participate in database development by gathering information for assets and other new and old data and information needed to allow end user reporting tools to function effectively.
- Participate in the development of procedures and processes to collect and maintain data records.
- Monitor and report on system capacity and constraints, feeder performances, load forecasts, reliability, and outages using tools, models and resources.
- Responsible for development of long term load forecast, provide guidance to engineering with electrical system design from a reliability standpoint.
- Participate on regional planning working groups. Coordinate and plan with host distributors to ensure adequate load and reliability requirements are met.
- Undertake reliability improvement initiatives, such as worst performing feeder analysis.
- Undertake special investigations, studies, and evaluations. Prepare technical or business reports with recommendations.
- Develop station maintenance practices and strategy. Ensure that substations are operated safely and in accordance with relevant regulations.
- Responsible for overseeing the administration of the utility Geographical Information System (GIS), review input from other departments for new features and enhancements, prioritize work, ensure operating maps are maintained and available to crews and control room.
- Responsible for utility metering maintenance and strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, maintain reliable communications and data flow to billing department. Ensure data discrepancies are resolved.
- Oversee locate process, ensure adherence to Ontario Regional Common Ground Alliance (ORCGA) and Ontario One Call requirements.

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post Secondary Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology or Equivalent Minimum 5 years in a leadership role; Bachelor of Electrical Engineering is an asset;
- Five years of varied electrical utility experience is preferred;
- Registration as a Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) with the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT).
- Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Limited Engineering Licensee (LEL) with the Professional Engineers of Ontario is an asset.
- Knowledge of the OEB Distribution System Code; Ontario Regulation 22/04 requirements relating to electrical distribution systems; industry specific standards and specifications from CSAA and ESA;
- Planning of electrical distribution systems;
- Good working knowledge of electrical theory and construction practices;
- Asset management and investment planning practices, including reliability analysis and capital planning;
- General utility safety rules and procedures including IHSA Electrical Utility Safety Rule Book, Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations, and other applicable legislation;
- Proven interpersonal skills, including respect for all customers and employees;
