**Experienced Machine Builder for an OEM Packaging Machine Manufacturer**

AFA Systems manufactures automation packaging equipment including case packers, cartoners, tray packers, palletizers, accumulators, etc. in Brampton, Ontario.
- Machine Assembler / Builder working with small to large parts, with tight tolerances.
- Working to assemble custom packaging machinery with parts including: machine frames, bearings, gears, linear rails, rollers, shafts, pulleys, chains, belts, air cylinders, pneumatics, vacuum, valves, sensors, robots, servo motors, gear boxes, conveyors, covers and guards, glue systems, electrical components, lubrication, wiring, safety systems, integration with up and downstream equipment, testing and troubleshooting equipment. Parts mostly steel, stainless steel, aluminum, plastic materials.
- Modify parts in Machine Shop using typical shop equipment and tools i.e. milling, sawcutting, drilling, tapping, grinding, bending, shearing, press, etc.
- Comfortable working with and lifting heavy parts (assisted).
- May or may not require travel - starting up machines, training, and troubleshooting at customer sites, communicating with operators/customers.
- Full time, day shift, with benefits. 40 hours/week with overtime available.

**Skills**:

- 1 x Experienced Position: Min 5-10 years experience in machine assembly specifically, preferred in similar packaging industry.
- Other assets (not required) include: Electromechanical background/experience preferred, welding, experience in same packaging industry.
- Works well individually and as a team.
- Flexible as is a fast-paced and constantly changing environment/requirements
- Hands-on and Mechanically inclined
- Careful and Detailed - tight tolerances required
- Able to follow CAD assembly drawings (print or computer)
- Comfortable with typical machine shop tools and equipment, and measuring tools.
- Owns basic tools
- Willing to learn
- Good attitude and communicates well - working together with other assemblers, engineers, and customers.
- Physical stamina - working with some heavy parts (and very small parts), standing, crouching, climbing, lifting, etc.
- May travel
- Must speak English (other languages an asset).
