**The Opportunity**

We have a full-time (1 year term) position available for Mental Health Clinician to work within CMHA’s Huddle Broadway Program. Huddle is intended to be a one-stop-shop for youth to have ease of access to mental and physical health, addictions, financial and employment supports, culturally appropriate Indigenous counselling, supports, events and activities as well as opportunities to connect with their community and each other through structured educational programming, and events. This program is designed to help youth (12 - 29) reach their goals and highest potential.

**The Position**
The Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing individual, group, and family clinical interventions and educational sessions for youth and caring adults at Huddle Broadway. As many of the youth we serve are Indigenous, a comprehensive knowledge of Indigenous history, culture, traditions, and practices is essential. The salary scale for this position falls within Band 5, **$45,869.88** and **$55,799.34**, of the 2021 Collective Agreement, for 35 hours of work per week. Hours are **Monday to Friday 8:30-4:30** **pm** with some flexibility within all CMHA’s operational hours as needed.

**The Qualifications**

**Required**
- BSW and eligibility for registration with the Manitoba College of Social Workers or other professional association
- Over two years’ experience supporting youth (up to the age of 29) in a counselling, case management, or other clinical role
- Knowledge and experience using Social Work Clinical modalities.
- Strong understanding and experience working with Indigenous, Metis and Inuit populations, their traditional healing and wellness beliefs and practices.
- Strong understanding and experience working with diverse communities and from an inclusion/antioppression framework.
- Specific understanding of 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and community services, services for youth and families of colour, settlement services
- Effective engagement and communication skills
- Strong understanding of the impact of immigration on newcomer youth, disability, and related available services for youth
- Strong understanding of the impact of colonization, the history, and its continuing impact.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, both internally and externally
- Knowledge of the Child Welfare System in Manitoba
- Knowledge of mental health, mental illness, substance use, Harm Reduction principles
- Knowledge of local mental health and addictions systems and community services
- Must have recent satisfactory criminal records check/vulnerable persons, and recent satisfactory criminal record check and a child abuse registry check, along with a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word
- Flexible working hours, including some evenings

**Preferred**
- Knowledge of settlement services and the impacts of immigration on newcomer youth
- Training in trauma-informed and culturally safe approaches, strengths-based perspective, and general customer service
- Knowledge of health and social service systems is an asset
- Knowledge and experience using the psychosocial rehabilitation (PSR) model is an asset
