POSITION OVERVIEW

Kratos Antenna Solutions is looking for an experienced Rigger to support our Whitby/Ashburn testing site. This position will be required to perform all necessary antenna range rigging and mounting activities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Rig and mount prototype and/ or production antennas for testing
- Perform antenna adjustments such as L-Band and ESA sub
- reflector adjustments while the antenna is mounted on the tower.
- Support Range Technician during development and production antenna measurements.
- Maintain range equipment and work area.
- Test rigging to ensure safety and reliability.
- Attach loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools.
- Select gear such as cables, pulleys, and winches, according to load weights and sizes, facilities, and work schedules.
- Control movement of heavy equipment through narrow openings or confined spaces, using chainfalls, gin poles, gallows frames, and other equipment.
- Tilt, dip, and turn suspended loads to maneuver over, under, and/or around obstacles, using multi-point suspension techniques.
- Align, level, and anchor machinery.
- Fabricate, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools.
- Manipulate rigging lines, hoists, and pulling gear to move or support materials such as heavy equipment, ships, or theatrical sets.
- Clean and dress machine surfaces and component parts.
- Attach pulleys and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings, and gin pole booms, using bolts and clamps.
- Dismantle and store rigging equipment after use.
- Forklift certification and ability to safety operate overhead cranes
- Other assigned work as required

**Experience and Skills**:
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- Completion of Secondary School diploma or equivalent work experience
- 2-3 years of experience in climbing/ rigging
- Ability to work comfortably and certified in working from heights
- Ability to work under minimum supervision
- Familiarity with various testing techniques would be an asset

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Office and/or manufacturing environment
- Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time
- Ability to perform repetitive motion
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Employee may generate, handle, manage, or work around hazardous materials and hazardous wastes

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

- 10-25% - May be required between locations
