NSCR seeks a permanent **full-time **(35 hours/week) **Outreach Program Consultant **for the Child Care Resource and Referral Program (CCRR). The Outreach Program Consultant is responsible for facilitating parent, child care provider/educator and child drop-in programs on the North Shore. The Consultant will spend considerable time outside of the NSCR office, working at various sites in the community. Through outreach in the community, the consultant will support current and prospective child care providers and parents on an ongoing basis. The Consultant is responsible for working collaboratively with NSCR staff, community partners and clients to achieve the mandate and quality service for the Child Care Resource and Referral Program.

**Responsibilities**:
The CCRR Outreach Program Consultant will:

- Plan, implement and facilitate CCRR drop-in programs (Circle of Care and Mother Goose) for parents, informal and formal child care providers, and children as needed in the community
- Lead staff to offer support visits with other community agencies related to early years, and promote CCRR services
- Maintain a working knowledge of community services and resources, and provide this information to child care providers, parents, and the community
- Support child care providers and parents to access NSCR and CCRR programs and services
- Responsible for updating and maintaining the NSCR CCRR website drop-in programs for the community and CCRR
- Works collaboratively with staff to plan and implement special events
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and availability of equipment and resources that will enhance program experiences in child care settings
- Prepare flyers and promotional materials for the Child Care Resource and Referral Program including articles for the quarterly CCRR newsletter
- Represent NSCR and the Child Care Resource and Referral Program on committees and in the community as needed
- Participates in the CCRR workshop rotation with other CCRR team members
- Participate in CCRR and NSCR community events as needed, including evenings and weekends
- Assume other duties as determined by the program manager

**Qualifications, Skills and Experience**:

- Valid BC ECE Certificate
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in child care centers with some supervisory responsibility
- Strong computer skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Excellent communication skills: writing, reporting, record keeping and presentation skills
- A vehicle and the ability to work flexible hours is required; as this person in this position will work some weekends and evenings
- Criminal Records Check & Vulnerable Sector Search required prior to start date and repeated as required from time to time

**Terms of Employment**:
Start Date: as soon as possible

3% RRSP contribution; paid closure between Christmas Day and New Year’s Day (all benefits pending completion of probationary period)
